the heART Trail
At the 2019 Ebb & Flow Festival, Enjoy Baton Rouge will lead a walking tour of the heART trail one hour before the festival on April 6th @ 10:00 am and on April 7th @ 11:00 am. Attendees will enjoy art popups and performances while walking through the capital city!
What is the heart trail?
The heART Trail is a 5K walking/running trail throughout downtown Baton Rouge developed by designer and artist Taylor Jacobsen. The goal is simple: a trail encouraging people to embrace the importance of a heart-healthy lifestyle, get out in their city, and experience art in unexpected ways. Using temporary art installations for way-finding, residents and visitors can enjoy the beautiful topography, architecture, and public art while getting exercise.
One stop along the heART Trail will be TRAILBLAZER, a Love Across the USA crocheted mural of classical singer and civil rights icon Marian Anderson, created by NYC artist OLEK. This work will hang on the future home of the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge. Join us for our TRAILBLAZER Chorus on Saturday, April 6th, at 11:15 am to celebrate this beautiful piece of art and welcome it to Baton Rouge!
Maps and info regarding the heART Trail and the walk can be found in the Atrium of the LASM during the Ebb & Flow Festival.
